A lot of the initial work is involved in positioning the the various items such as sinks, toilet bath and shower in the room. Planning this way will prevent a lot of expensive mistakes and corrections later on in the project. One useful way I have approached this stage is to actually cut out rough shapes of the various items from newspaper and place these on the floor to see if they fit and which arrangement makes the best use of space.
