A Mirror Medicine Cabinet is a Bathroom Necessity

Posted by GuestPoster / furniture

Most bathrooms will feature a cabinet with a mirror hung on the wall behind it. These mirrors are available in a variety of designs, shapes and sizes, including some that are incorporated into a small storage cabinet. The medicine cabinet, as they are called, will usually have a mirrored surface that doubles as a door and swings out using a series of hinges. Consumers can choose from two different designs. One cabinet type is mounted on the wall surface and the other will feature a recessed medicine cabinet mirror.

When people hear the term “recessed” they think of one item inserted into another. These cabinets have a framed mirror that raises them away from the wall along the perimeter. The decorative frame around the mirror gives medicine-cabinetthe item a finished look that adds style to the environment. These frames are made in a variety of colors to match any type of decor. Just like the flat cabinet, the recessed model will have the same type of opening mechanism.

Some of the newer models will have a mirrored surface that is divided into panels. The multiple panels are used in addition to the outer frame to add a decorate element to the unit. Some will have frames that have intricate designs and scroll work. Some may have a Victorian look and be covered in gold for a luxurious look. Many of these units will have lights incorporated into the design to make them even more functional. Sometimes the light fixture is mounted along the top and is equipped with ordinary light bulbs. Other styles will have fluorescent lights attached along the sides. A mirror medicine cabinet is readily available at most home improvement centers and furniture stores. Consumers will find designs to complement any bathroom and they are available in a wide range of styles to fit any size budget.

Great Room Decorating Ideas for Your Bathroom

Posted by GuestPoster / bathroom

Our bathroom’s style often depends on other interior designs found around our home. However, size matters more than anything here! It’s obvious that we have more opportunity to create the bathroom of our dreams if we have more space. However, if we follow some basic rules about decorating the bathroom we won’t be disappointed, even if only in possession of a truly tiny bathroom.

Instead of traditional heaters why not install tubular rails for the walls? Not only we can pick elegant designs which look stunning, but also they make a perfect place to dry towels. If we don’t have a separate laundry room, a good idea is to put a washing machine in a bay in the bathroom and install convenient shelves for cleaning products.

Nothing warms the bathroom more than natural wood accents or features located on walls or floors. Remember that not every type of wood will be appropriate considering the inherent moisture present in a bathroom. If there is no window in our bathroom we can substitute it with a glass wall or barrier, which always looks really elegant and gives more daylight and brightness, useful especially for shaving and applying make-up.

A large mirror on tiled walls and a bright light is a proven way to give the impression of more space. An Oriental or vintage Black sunburst mirror would be a great option to bring some light to the room and make the interior elegant and original.

There are many more Room Decorating Ideas but there is one element that is really important, not only in decorating the bathroom. Colors are elements of decorations that can influence our mood and also the functionality of an interior. Use up to three colours when decorating a bathroom to avoid colour chaos. For smaller bathrooms, the best options are bright tiles, which when situated on the floor and on the walls make the interior seem much larger.

Open shelves under the sink also look very neat and elegant but can be a little bit of a pain to keep clean.

Choosing The Right Toilet For Your Needs

Posted by GuestPoster / plumbing

There are many toilets for sale on the market today, ranging anywhere in price, from $100 to over $2000. The most important thing you should think about when purchasing a new toilet is flushing performance. Once you’ve settled on that, then you can start thinking about color preferences, corner toilet tank options or other style considerations. A stylish-looking toilet is nice, but after you get it installed, you might find that it has a tendency to clog every other day, making you frustrated with your purchase. Remember, the more expensive toilets don’t necessarily mean they’re the best option when you’re looking for trouble-free performance or a toilet that contains easily replaceable toilet parts.

There are three main types of toilets to be aware of: gravity toilets, vacuum assist toilets, and pressure assist toilets. The most common are gravity toilets, which are a great option for houses without a high water pressure since gravity is doing all the work. It’s best to purchase a model that features a trapway diameter of at least two inches. Any less than that means you’ll have to take out the toilet plunger more often.

Pressure assist toilets are best for environments that see heavy usage. They offer a powerful flush, and contain an additional pressurized plastic reservoir inside the tank. When the toilet is flushed, most of the water is released into the toilet bowl. The downside to this type of toilet is that they’re very loud, and they might not work in houses that contain older plumbing systems.

Finally there is the vacuum assist toilet. This type creates a suction force on the deposits in the toilet bowl, sucking them into the trapway. A special vacuum chamber pulls air out of the trap below the bowl. Vacuum assist toilets are quieter than pressure assist, plus they’re increasing in popularity.
